A woman and dog were killed Sunday night in a fatal two-car collision in Newport Beach, police said. (Shutterstock)NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A woman and dog died Sunday night in a two-car collision in Newport Beach, police said.The Newport Beach Police Department said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and did not have information on her identity or if the dog belonged to her. Two children in the other car involved in the collision suffered “major injuries” and were taken to a hospital. The collision happened just after 8 p.m. near San Joaquin Hills Road and Newport Ridge Drive. One of the cars became engulfed in flames, but police did not say if it was the one belonging to the woman.
